TPR scale: 180+ MVP, 140+ superstar, 110+ allstar, 85+ starter, 65+ bench

I will be looking at the rookie ratings from three different angles. First I will compare base TPR with game pace and team defense included. Then I will figure in one on one defense for the final TPR. Last I will add or subtract a minutes played bonus for the final rookie score.

Minutes played ultimately determines the ROY in my formula and also in the mainstream. TPR reveals many who have excelled minute per minute yet may not have played extended minutes. Hidden potential is exposed.

Marcin Gortat's 118.5 name doesn't roll off the tongue like butter however his role as back-up to Dwight Howard has been a big asset to the Magic bench. He could have a long career in the NBA.
Despite a weakness on the defensive end Marreese Speights 108 is improving in that area and may overtake Sam Dalembert for playoff minutes.

Defense: Many rookies struggle on defense and it is rare to see any excell. This years rookie crop is very deep and there are several good defenders. Notable are;
D J Augustine 97, Derrick Rose 90.5, Rudy Fernandez 107.5, Russell Westbrook 79, Kyle Weaver 64.5, Courtney Lee 83, Marcin Gortat 118.5, Kosta Koufos 101.5, Luc Moute 75.
